The training course focuses on the unique needs and considerations when dealing with specific national cultures. The effect of values, expectations and the unspoken communication “rules” held within the target culture and how they differ from one’s own culture will be made transparent. This enables participants to gain important insights and a new perspective of seemingly “strange” behaviour of foreign colleagues. This coupled with a background understanding of the culture in question gives confidence in managing diversity and applying strategies relevant to the culture in question.
The insights gained during this course and development of communication skills provide a solid foundation and effective tools in order to deal confidently with integration processes, to ensure successful knowledge transfer procedures, to build trust and avoid faux pas.

Personal coaching develops the necessary compe-tencies to successfully manage international assign-ments on an individualised basis.
Individual competencies, such as flexibility, emotional strength, listening skills and personal autonomy will be developed along with the specific cultural knowledge relevant to the assignment in question.


Background to the ITTI tool
Research shows that trust within an international team is a key predictor of effectiveness, creativity, & readiness to accept change. However, perhaps due to its fragility and complexity, there are remarkably few tools or training courses that explicitly focus on this issue. With this in mind, the ITTI provides a unique process to enable teams to explore this critical factor.

Based on available research WorldWork Ltd, the producers of the tool, have identified 10 different ‘criteria’ that people from many different cultures use to decide whether to trust others. Based on these trust criteria, the tool identifies levels of trust and the trust ‘deficit’ within any given team or workgroup. Each team member completes a questionnaire which identifies for them the behaviors and attitudes they need from their colleagues if they are to trust them, and also what they are actually experiencing in this respect. These individual results are then pooled to provide an overall report for the team as a whole. The report contains a range of graphical analysis options that will enable the team leader and team members to identify the nature of any trust deficits within the team.

The ITTI instrument is suitable for multi-cultural teams that have experience of working together for at least a short time. It can be used as part of a team coaching program, allowing the team to address difficult & elusive aspects of team effectiveness in a constructive way.
